I remember wantin’ a pair of Dale Evans’ cowgirl boots.  I didn’t have tha’ money ‘n Mamma ‘n Daddy didn’t either.  I prayed that if it was alright with God for me ta’ get tha' boots, ta’ help me find a way ta’ get ‘em.

Flavor For Faith

Flavor For Faith

In tha' south, it's all 'bout food. Mamma loves ta' cook for people. She says it takes tha' right amount of spices 'n ingredients ta' get tha' right flavor. Ya' put salt on it so it'll taste better.
Just as salt changes tha' way food tastes, Christians are ta' live their life as an example ta' enhance 'n change others lives. If ya' lose your 'salt', it's no good ta' help others anymore.

What's Your Treasure?

What's Your Treasure?

Mamma has a shoebox full of memories. She has me 'n my sister's first hair ribbons, a watch that Daddy got her after tha' war, 'n lots of pictures 'n little things that mean somethin' special ta' her. She calls it her 'treasure chest'. Do ya' have a treasure chest of special things?

Is God Ever Silent?

Is God Ever Silent?
Have ya' ever been frustrated 'bout somethin'? I think we can all say YES. How many times have ya' talked ta' God 'bout 'em 'n ya' felt He'd forgottin' ya'? You're not hearin' from Him when ya' think ya' otta' be. God is silent!

How Do Ya' Ride Tha' Waves of Life?

Every time I'm at tha' beach, I remember, when I was little, Daddy would take me 'n my sister out in tha' ocean ta' ride tha' waves. He held me in one arm 'n my sister in tha' other. As long as Daddy was holdin' me, I felt safe.

Is Your Faith Grounded?

Growin' up we had some big oak trees in our back yard. Me 'n my best friend, Molly Sue, loved ta' play under 'em in tha' summer, 'cause they gave a lot 'a shade. Molly Sue's first boyfriend carved a heart on tha' tree that's still there taday.

The Book of Esther by Deborah H. Bateman is the book that many women readers will love. There have been other books written on or about this beautiful book in the Bible, but this one allows the reader to enjoy the story more by reading it as a daily devotion.
