Great Faith

Mamma's always been a strong woman with a great faith in God. She says that faith ain't all that complicated - there's a right road 'n a wrong road ta' travel. If your road's not pointed toward Jesus, it's pointed toward trouble. When ya' come ta' a crossroad in your life, which road will ya' take?

Ya' know, sometimes it's hard ta' figure out if you're walkin' on tha' right road when your road is filled with business meetin's, deadlines, payin' tha' bills, gettin' your car repaired, 'n returnin' your phone calls.

Ta' stay on tha' right road, read your Bible everyday. Sounds simple doesn't it? Our lives become so filled with "stuff" that we get overwhelmed, 'n sometimes our faith gets lost in tha' shuffle. But it's through His word that God speaks ta' ya', 'n keeps ya' strong ta' get through your everyday "stuff".

Ya' gotta' keep strong in your faith!

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Don't rely on people, rely on tha' Lord!

So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:5

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith is belivin' in somethin' without really seein' it. God says that your faith will make ya'

strong. No matter what happens in our life - in good times, in hard times - our faith in Him

will carry ya', 'n uplift ya'. Your victory is in Him!

Heavenly Father, keep us strong in our faith! Give us your wisdom! Thank ya' for your gift of grace. In tha' name of Jesus, amen.

Things Ta' Think 'bout:
1. How strong is your faith?
2. Are ya' on tha' right road?

Guest Post, "Intimacy or Intel?"

Rita, thank ya' so much for bein' my guest blogger taday!

Has our relationship with technology helped or hindered personal intimacy in our lives? Dr. Sherry Turkle has studied how living in a highly technical age, where we’re all plugged into something, changes the way we see ourselves as people; and the way we do relationships. Her research suggests that technology is taking up so much space in our lives that fewer things are getting our undivided attention. That means our kids, our spouses, and our relationship with God. Could it be that the cyberspace world we live in, is really robbing us of intimacy in relationships?

Tha' Glory of Easter

At our church's Easter Pageant last year, Cousin Cletus was in charge of rollin' tha' stone away from tha' tomb. All tha' people helpin' change tha' sets wore black so they wouldn't be seen when tha' lights went down. Well, Cousin Cletus started ta' roll tha' stone away from tha' tomb 'n it got loose. It rolled over tha' feet of tha' people sittin' on tha' front row. Ya' could hear people hollerin'. When tha' lights came up again, there was Cousin Cletus sittin' in front of tha' tomb in his flannel underware. It was tha' only thing black he had ta' wear.

Tha' Easter Fire

Growin' up Mamma would dress me 'n my sister, Ditsy Lou, alike on Easter Sunday. We wore tha' same dress, hat, gloves,'n black patent leather shoes. Everyone at church would be dressed up too. As a matter of fact, there were more people at church on Easter than any other holiday. It had gotten ta' be a fashion show.
